Deuterocanonical books

Deuterocanonical books is a term used since the sixteenth century in the Catholic Church and Eastern Christianity to describe certain books and passages of the Christian Old Testament that are not part of the Hebrew Bible.


Additions to The Book of Daniel

Susanna,the story of a God fearing woman who was helped by Daniel






Bel and the Dragon,a supposed gods who Daniel disproves,






Prayer of Manasseh,is the penitent prayer of King Manasseh,2 Chronicles 33:15-19


Psalm 151,additon to Psalms which suppose David wrote concerning him to his brothers and the defeat of Goliath


Tobit,God sends the angel Raphael to heals both Tobit and Anna





Judith,a good story of a courageous woman






Esther (Greek),additions to Esther




Wisdom of Solomon,not written by Solomon,but simply to emphasizes it's importance



Sirach,written like the wisdom book of the Bible(Job to Ecclesiastes)


Baruch,secretary to Jeremiah
Letter of Jeremiah(Baruch 6)




Maccabees 1-4,some are historically proven and some are not. The story of the Maccabees is told in 1 Maccabees and 2 Maccabees, which are part of the Septuagint, and in 3 Maccabees and 4 Maccabees, which are not. 1 Maccabees and 2 Maccabees are part of the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Old Testaments, but not the Hebrew Bible.
