Background:This and the following letter to a church in the Greek cuty of Cirinth which Paul had visited(Ac18:1-21).Paul had heard that there were various problems in the church:church politics(1-4);moral problems(5), Christian thaking each other to court(6),marriage(7), special difficulties arising from living in a city full of temples to various gods(8-10),organization of worship (11-14)and intellectual problems with life after death(15. 16chapters)
