Beginning Again 8

Bible Hermeneutics

the study of the general principles of biblical interpretation. For both Jews and Christians throughout their histories, the primary purpose of hermeneutics, and of the exegetical methods employed in interpretation, has been to discover the truths and values of the Bible.

Genesis 40:8 Christian Standard Bible (CSB)

8 “We had dreams,” they said to him, “but there is no one to interpre
t them.”

Then Joseph said to them, “Don’t interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.”

Genesis 40:8 King James Version (KJV)

8 And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.

Not interpretations= The rules are simple

A.Visions are given by God/s
B.Their servants interprets the visions[These two words give room for false gods,Joseph was still in Egypt after all]

to God=Joseph knew that God did send the visions, and he knew there is only one true God. That's why he is correct in his asking.
